In the old days, trains used to go through what is today the Avinguda d’Icària in the neighborhood of La Vila Olímpica del Poblenou. The area was revamped before the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games. Nowdays, there is a whole section of this avenue which contains a huge sculpture made of train tracks to commemorate this fact.
