In the Poblenou neighborhood, near the Plaça de Prim, fishermen used to live in humbles houses. Nowdays this square is home to one of the most famous fish & seafood restaurant of Barcelona “Els Pescadors”.
One can find in most neighborhoods of Barcelona gated alleys of so-called “cheap” houses where people coexist in harmony, like here in the Poblenou, as opposed to modern buildings where neighbors do not interact with each other.

The gentrification of Poblenou is picking up speed. Most workshops and factories typical of the area have been razed to the ground, and replaced by boring buildings and construction sites, like the one in the picture.
