The Vallbona neighborhood used to be farmland. Today, most of the area is still used to grow vegetables.
In the Northern part of the Nou Barris district, the neighborhood of Vallbona looks like a small village lost in time.
The open section of the Rec Comtal, the old irrigational canal which crosses the city of Barcelona all the way down to the sea, looks like a place straight out of a fairy tale.
The neighborhood of Vallbona is almost entirely dedicated to cultivation. But there are a few other spots in Barcelona where fruits and vegetables are grown, like here between La Vall d’Hebron and La Clota.
