People who live in the El Poblenou neighborhood have no reason to go “downtown”. They have everything at hand: restaurants, supermarkets, organic food stores, cafés, fashion boutiques, and much more.
In Barcelona, beach bars are very popular, like the ones on the Sant Sebastià beach located in the La Barceloneta neighborhood.
Sgraffito decorations are typical of Barcelona’s buildings. Some are quite plain, and represent geometric shapes or flowers, others are more intricate like garlands, medallions, etc.
The markets of the Capital city carry the best Catalan deli food ever, like the Santa Caterina one, located in the Sant Pere, Santa Caterina i la Ribera neighborhood.
I like this composition with the Besòs thermal power plant, and the Tres Xemeneies which give an industrial touch to the Barcelona skyline.
