This week’s post is a photopainting I would like to use as a pattern for a foulard. The design as well as the colors make me think of antique Chinese porcelains.
Sgraffito decorations are typical of Barcelona’s buildings. Some are quite plain, and represent geometric shapes or flowers, others are more intricate like garlands, medallions, etc.
Planned by Catalan entrepreneur Eusebi Güell for his employees, the Còlonia Güell, located south of Barcelona, is a mixture of small houses and modernist buildings. It looks like a place frozen in time.
