This is my version of the parish office located on the Plaça de la Concòrdia in the Les Corts neighborhood: I find its original beige color quite boring.
La Bordeta is a neighborhood full of contrasts. There you can find modern office buildings next to last century apartment blocks located right across from historic industrial buildings of the Catalan Manchester period.
This facade is typical of middle-class buildings of the “Catalan Manchester” period, when El Poblenou was a neighborhood dedicated to the textile industry.
Sgraffito decorations are typical of Barcelona’s buildings. Some are quite plain, and represent geometric shapes or flowers, others are more intricate like garlands, medallions, etc.
Barcelona is one of the art capitals of the world, and it seems that everywhere you look there are amazing buildings like the one I spotted the other day in Poble Sec.
The revamped neighborhood of La Marina del Prat Vermell boasts the latest architectural trends in condos and office buildings.
It seems to me that nowadays architects use a very limited color palette. I would love to see buildings like this one which I painted the way I would want it to be.
